The scientific quality of Wageningen University & Research is demonstrated by the prominent position we hold in the international rankings and citation indexes. At WUR, you work at an organisation that is among the best in the world.

Times Higher Education World University Rankings assesses world-class universities and WUR is in 65th place among the 400 universities on their list. Since 2004, QS World University Rankings has released the World University Rankings, in which 700 universities are evaluated and whittled down to a top 400. WUR comes in at 124 on this list. WUR also stands among the top 150 universities worldwide on the Academic Ranking of World Universities (Shanghai Ranking).

Our degree programmes are among the best in the world. In the field of Agriculture, WUR is number 1 according to the National Taiwan Ranking 16-17. WUR also leads the pack in the QS World University Rankings 2017 in the categories of Agriculture & Forestry. The Shanghai Ranking 2017 puts WUR at number 1 for the degree programmes of “Agricultural Sciences” and “Food Science & Technology”.

At the national level, Wageningen University & Research was named the best university in the Netherlands for the 12th consecutive time by the 2016 Keuzegids Ranking, which compares various Dutch universities. Several Wageningen Bachelor’s programmes received high scores, including Plant Sciences, International Land and Water Management, and Forest and Nature Management.
